The Fall Beauty Reset

Simple Ways to Refresh Your Hair, Skin & Beauty

After a summer of sunshine, humidity, swimming, air conditioning, and (hopefully!) lots of time outside, your hair and skin may be ready for a little extra TLC. The good news? You don’t need to completely overhaul your routine. A few simple changes can make a big difference.

Give Your Hair a Little Extra Love

Summer can be tough on our hair. Sun exposure, chlorine, salt water, and frequent washing can leave hair feeling dry, dull, or just not quite like itself. Fall is a great time to add a little extra moisture back into your routine.

Try adding a weekly hair mask or deep-conditioning treatment. If your hair has a lot of buildup from summer products or swimming, a clarifying shampoo can also be helpful before you start your fall routine.

What about those ends? A little leave-in conditioner or hair oil can help keep them feeling softer as the weather gets cooler.

Don’t Forget Your Scalp

We spend so much time talking about our hair that it’s easy to forget where it all starts: the scalp!

If you’ve been using lots of dry shampoo, styling products, or spending time in pools and at the beach this summer, fall is a good time to give your scalp a little attention.

A gentle scalp scrub or clarifying shampoo can help remove buildup and leave your scalp feeling fresh. Just remember that more isn’t necessarily better — you don’t want to overdo it and irritate your scalp.

Your Skin May Need a Little Switch-Up Too

As the air gets cooler and drier, your skin may start asking for more moisture.

If you’ve been using lightweight summer moisturizers, you may want to switch to something a little richer. And don’t forget your hands, elbows, knees, and feet — they tend to be the first places to complain when the weather gets dry!

A good body moisturizer right after a shower is one of those tiny habits that makes a surprisingly big difference.

Take a Look at Your Beauty Products

Fall is also the perfect time for a little beauty cabinet cleanup.

Take a few minutes to look through your products and ask yourself:

Do I actually use this?

If the answer is no, it’s probably time to let it go. Check expiration dates, toss anything that has changed in smell or texture, and move the products you actually love to the front where you’ll use them.

Because honestly, sometimes the best beauty reset is realizing you don’t need another product. 😂

Your Simple Fall Beauty Reset

If you don’t want to make this complicated, start here:

•Add a weekly hair mask

•Clarify your hair if you have summer buildup

•Give your scalp some attention

•Switch to a more moisturizing body and skincare routine

•Pay extra attention to dry hands and lips

•Clean out your beauty products

•And most importantly, give yourself a little extra time for self-care

You don’t need a completely new routine just because the calendar says it’s fall. Sometimes a few small changes and a little extra TLC are all you need to head into the new season feeling refreshed — and that’s a pretty good beauty reset in my book!
